In Control Process
An in control process is a process where there are no special causes of variation. Many people tend to think that because the process isn't affected by special causes variation, this implies that the process is performing well. However, this is not true and the process may be performing at a non-acceptable level. In most cases, the process that doesn't have any special causes variations and is stable isn't producing the output with the minimum quality requirements.
In order to make sure that the process is in control and that it remains this way, companies tend to use control charts. When a special cause variation arises unexpectedly, the managers are immediately notified so that they can take action.
