Critical To Quality (CTQ)

The Critical To Quality (CTQ) is internal quality parameters that relate to what the customers want and need.

Some people tend to mix the CTQ with the CTC. However, they are different. While the CTC  is what's more important for the customer, the CTQ is what's important for the process quality to make sure that the customer stays happy.

Ultimately, the Critical to Quality expresses only the needs of the customer. When you're the person responsible for this task, you need to convert these needs into measurable terms. In order to do this, you can use different tools. However, one of the most used is the DFMEA.
