Interest-Based Bargaining
The interest-based bargaining is a process improvement method that includes the entire team. In a more practical way, it's a negotiation between all the parts involved in order to try to find the best solution for all involved. This is often called as a win-win negotiation.
The interest-base bargaining has 5 characteristics:
- The main focus isn't put on positions but on the interests;
- The bargaining over positions should be avoided;
- The goal is to define mutual gain options;
- The right solution for the problem is selected based on objective criteria;
- The people who are negotiating are separated from the problem.
